The PBS Junior Classical League, aka The Latin Club, consists of PBS high school students who are currently enrolled in Latin or who have taken at least one year of Latin. Each club member is also a member of the Louisiana Junior Classical League, the state organization, and the National Junior Classical League, the national organization. The purpose of the PBS Junior Classical League is best expressed in the creed of the Junior Classical League:
"We, the members of the Junior Classical League, covenant to hand on the torch of classical civilization in the modern world.
We believe an acquaintance with the civilization of Greece and Rome will help us understand and appraise this world of today, which is indebted to ancient civilization in its government and laws, literature, language and arts.
We affirm the JCL experience develops responsibility, fosters brotherhood, promotes enthusiasm, encourages competition, inspires dedication and enriches our total growth."
Each year the PBS Junior Classical League participates in the state convention held in Baton Rouge. At this convention hundreds of students gather to compete in academic and athletic events. During the summer students also have the opportunity to participate in the national convention.

The PBS Junior Classical League, aka the Latin Club, recently attended Fall Forum. Each year Latin clubs from Louisiana gather in Baton Rouge to discuss plans for the Louisiana Junior Classical League Convention that is held in the spring. Those who attended the Fall Forum held at Episcopal High School also participated in academic bowl games called certamen.
The Latin Club is in the processing of making “chapel ties” for its club members. The designs on the ties will be drawn by the girls in the Latin Club. The boys in the Latin Club will wear the designer ties on designated “dress days.”
This year the Latin Club will invade a chosen restaurant each month. During the month of October, the Latin Club has chosen CiCi’s Pizza on Siegen Lane. This “dining-out” activity promotes unity in the club.
